Our Planned Improvements
Ensuring that the homes we manage are safe, modern and decent is important to us, which is why each year we invest millions of pounds in carrying out wide ranging improvements across the housing stock.
The types of improvements we deliver varies but can include:
- External improvements: such as new roofs, facias, soffits, rainwater goods, windows, doors, pointing.
- Internal improvements: such as new kitchens and bathrooms.
- Energy efficiency Improvements: such as boilers, loft insulation.
- Safety Improvements: such as electrical works, smoke alarms, mechanical ventilation and fire stopping.
The improvements we carry out are based upon information we hold about our properties, from periodic physical inspections we carry out, (known as stock condition surveys) and from reviewing our repairs information.
Allowing us access to your home for stock condition surveys helps us understand the condition of our housing stock and informs our plans for future investment.

Making Your Own Improvements To Your Home
In addition to the investment provided by St Leger Homes, you may wish to carry out other improvements to your home at your own expense.
We understand that our customers want to make there house a home, and this might involve you wanting to make your own improvements to make your home decent, safe and modern. Some improvements you can do without permission from us, however some will require permission and possibly a visit from our surveyor.

Applying for permission is free, easy and can be done in several ways.
- Complete and return our enquiry form below.
- Contact our Customer Own Improvement Team on 01302 862270 who will take an enquiry over the phone.
- Call into our office at our Civic Building and complete an enquiry form.
Once we have received your enquiry your request will be considered. This might involve one of our inspectors visiting your home to discuss your plans with you.
You will be notified of our decision along with any conditions that are attached to the permission. If permission is not granted, you can appeal.
You should not start any improvements or alterations until we have confirmed you can do so.
Sometimes the improvements you want may require planning permission, adherence to building regulations or confirmation that it falls within your permitted development rights.
These are administrated by the City of Doncaster Council and may incur a charge.
