We’re proud to be shortlisted for an award at the Children and Young People Now (CYPN) Awards.

The awards, taking place on Thursday 23 November, celebrate all those working to improve the lives of children and families.

We are up for the Leaving Care Award alongside our partners in the City of Doncaster Council’s Children’s Services team for our project, The Keys to Your Future.

The Keys to Your Future project has been designed with and for young people in the care system – aimed at helping to prepare those aged under 18, who are looked after by the local authority, to learn skills to live independently.

We provide a home for two to share; meaning they don’t have to rely on costly private supported accommodation outside the borough, they can stay local to the people and places they know and have a successful transition into adulthood.

Being able to live in Doncaster whilst testing out their independence means they can continue to plan and develop goals for their future.

Jennie Daly, Tenancy Sustainability Service Manager, said:

“We are delighted to have been nominated for the Leaving Care Award, in recognition of our work to support young people in Doncaster. They are learning valuable life skills through our project and can do this locally, not too far away from their networks.

"We want to say a big thank you, it’s extremely tough competition so to be shortlisted is such an achievement for us!”

Good luck to all nominated!
