Our Tenancy Agreement is a contract that sets out the responsibilities each tenant has and City of Doncaster Council’s responsibilities as their landlord.

We’ve been reviewing our Tenancy Agreement to make sure that it meets the needs of our customers and communities. We shared the proposed changes with customers and invited feedback.

The feedback we received was carefully considered and incorporated into the proposed changes along with a few additional updates. We then consulted with customers again in July this year – thank you to everyone who contacted us with their views.

All comments have now been considered and further amendments to the proposed changes have been made as a result of this feedback. You can see these new changes here.

It is now our intention to introduce the new Tenancy Agreement. You can read this here.

By law we have to give customers at least four weeks' notice between writing to inform them and the start date of a new Tenancy Agreement. We have now written to all customers and the new Tenancy Agreement will start on 1 February 2026. This will automatically replace the existing agreement and customers are not required to sign a new agreement or take any action.
