We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Slater as our new Director of Corporate Services.
He brings a wealth of experience from across the housing and finance sectors and will join us on Monday 2 March. A Chartered Accountant since 2005, Steve began his career at KPMG before moving into a range of senior finance roles across both the private and public sectors. In 2012, he joined Cheltenham Borough Homes (CBH), where he spent over a decade in leadership positions including Finance Director, Director of Resources, and ultimately Chief Executive.
During his time at CBH, Steve led major programmes including Housing Revenue Account (HRA) financial management, large‑scale IT transformation, and the organisation’s People Strategy. His leadership is underpinned by a strong belief that people are an organisation’s greatest strength.
Outside of work, Steve is a dedicated family man and a passionate football fan. He also volunteers his time coaching his daughter’s grassroots football team.
Steve said: “It’s a privilege to join St Leger Homes at such an important time for the housing sector. I’m excited to bring my experience to an organisation with strong values and a clear commitment to delivering high‑quality services. I look forward to helping shape the next chapter of St Leger’s journey through supporting our employees and working alongside our teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers.”
Chris Margrave, Chief Executive of St Leger Homes, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Steve to St Leger Homes. He brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the social housing sector. His leadership will be a tremendous asset to our organisation, our staff, and the customers we serve.”
