Over the past week, we have successfully swapped 31 chip pans and deep-fat fryers for air fryers across high-rise buildings in Balby, Intake, and Wheatley. This initiative marks a significant step forward in improving safety for residents and reducing the risk of fires in our communities.

Chip pans and deep-fat fryers present a greater risk of fire and we will take every opportunity to reduce the risk of fires in our buildings. By replacing these with safer alternatives, we’re actively working to prevent future incidents and protect both people and property.

This project was delivered over a one-week period and involved fantastic collaboration between multiple teams, including:

  • Be Well Doncaster

  • St Leger Homes

  • Doncaster Council Neighbourhoods Team

Together, these teams worked tirelessly to coordinate the swaps and engage with residents, ensuring the process was smooth and successful.

Safer Cooking, Safer Homes

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to building safety and community wellbeing. By taking proactive measures, we’re not only reducing fire risks but also giving residents peace of mind, encouraging healthier eating habits and living

A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this happen!
