We’re pleased to announce that the project to install new external wall insulation systems across all five high-rise buildings on the Balby Bridge estate is now complete.
In addition, colleagues in our Asset Management Team have also completed improvements to the roads and garage entrances around the estate. We would like to thank customers for their patience and support while these important works were carried out.
Buildings fit for the future
As part of the programme, all five buildings have not only had their external wall insulation replaced but have also benefited from new roofs to help keep them safe and in good condition for the next 10 years.
New lightning conductors and edge protection have also been installed on each building.
At Hatfield House and Methley House, new windows and louvres have been fitted. Upgrades have also been made to the balcony doors – changing the orientation of these doors in each dwelling has allowed for the installation of new balcony surfaces, making these areas easier for residents to keep clean.
Carrying out work on high-rise buildings brings unique challenges for both St Leger’s teams and for our contractors, but we are very pleased with the overall result.
While there is still a small amount of tidying up to complete on the estate, the improvements made will help ensure the buildings remain compliant, improve living conditions for residents, and support lower heating costs during the winter months.
Thanks to our customers for your support
Projects like this are only possible thanks to the cooperation of customers who allow us access to their homes. We’re grateful to our customers for your continued support throughout the works.
