14 young people from across Doncaster are celebrating after securing apprenticeships and student placements with St Leger Homes.
11 apprentices will receive training up to NVQ Level 3 in a number of different trades within the organisation’s Repairs and Maintenance teams and in a variety of business support roles across the organisation.
There are two Apprentice Electricians; an Apprentice Joiner; an Apprentice Bricklayer; an Apprentice Gas Fitter; and five Business Administration Apprentices. There will also be a St Leger Homes first degree apprentice joining later in the year.
Three university students will also join St Leger Homes on one year work placements. One in the People Development team, another in the Business Transformation team and our final placement will be in the Health & Safety Team.
Mick Werritt, Director of Property Services at St Leger Homes, said:
“I am pleased to welcome these young people from across the borough to join our teams at St Leger Homes.
“Our apprenticeship and student placement programme offers a fantastic opportunity for people to learn a trade and gain qualifications that will set them up for a successful future career. By working closely with our highly skilled workforce, our apprentices and students will also be able to benefit from their vast experience of delivering quality services to tenants and residents.”
Jack Wake, Apprentice Bricklayer, said:
“I made the decision to choose St Leger Homes for my apprenticeship as they are an award winning company with good career prospects and I know their apprenticeship programme is one of the best in Doncaster.”
Owen Cooper, Apprentice Gas Fitter, said:
“I have been really welcomed by the company during my induction and I’m already proud to be working here.”
