St Leger Homes is offering up to six craft apprenticeships in its Repairs and Maintenance Team.
Applications have now opened for positions in the plumbing, joinery, electrical, gas fitting and bricklaying trades. The three to four year apprenticeships are open to people of all ages and will provide training up to NVQ level 2 or 3, dependant on the trade.
St Leger Homes manage around 21,000 properties on behalf of Doncaster Council. Since launching in 2005 they have taken on a total of 84 apprentices from the local area. Of those who have completed the apprenticeship 57 have gone on to secure full time employment with the company.
Paul Tanney, Chief Executive of St Leger Homes, said:
“These apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for people in Doncaster to gain the skills needed to start a successful and rewarding career in the trades sector.
“Our annual apprenticeship programme provides high quality training working with experienced tradespeople. Apprentices are important to the organisation as they help us to ensure that, moving into the future, our workforce continues to have the right skillset to deliver excellent services to our customers.
“I encourage anybody who is interested to apply online now.”
“These craft apprenticeships offer a great opportunity to balance learning with earning and to obtain skills that will never go out of fashion. Construction is a growth area and I would encourage anyone, male or female, who is interested in a career in construction to put in an application” Jackie Linacre - Head of Repairs and Maintenance.
The closing date for applications is 26th May 2017.
