Local housing provider St Leger Homes is pleased to announce that it has again achieved a five-star rating from the British Safety Council for health and safety – and alongside this, it has also achieved ISO45001 accreditation, the European standard.
The five-star rating is the ninth year in a row that the company has achieved this grading (part of the British Council Occupational Health and Safety Audit) for their approach to health and safety – whilst the ISO 45001 standard is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, protecting employees and the public from work-related accidents and diseases.
The independent British Safety Council audit measured performance against key health and safety management best practice indicators and a detailed review of over sixty component elements – as part of a comprehensive, quantified and robust evaluation of its occupational health and safety policies, processes and practices.
The audit process also acknowledges St Leger Homes’ commitment towards the continual improvement of health and safety management systems and associated arrangements.
Paul Tanney, Chief Executive of St Leger Homes, said:
“We are delighted that this independent audit has shown that we continue to be a best practice organisation when it comes to health and safety. To achieve a five-star rating for nine years in a row underlines how much we value health and safety as an organisation, and that we continue to put this at the heart of everything we do.
“We take the safety of all tenants and staff extremely seriously and we are also proud to have secured the ISO 45001 standard across the business. We will continue to aim for continual improvement as we move forward.”
