If you have window safety catches, make sure they are secure and working properly, particularly if you live in a high rise block - never change or remove them.

• Try to avoid putting things under a window that a child could climb on, beds, chairs, boxes and plant pots etc.
• Report broken glass immediately
• Use the handles to open/close windows – don’t push the glass
• Proper ventilation is important for your health and safety.  Make sure windows can be opened and report faulty windows to the repairs centre
