New phase of Decent Homes improvements

start in April

The final phase of Decent Homes work gets underway in April 2013 and will be rolled out across Doncaster over the next two years. It will include more than £40 million of work to transform over 8,000 of our properties.

The work will include improving kitchens and bathrooms, rewiring, roof replacement and pointing brickwork, however not all properties will receive these upgrades. Our surveyors are currently visiting properties to decide which homes need works.

Because we have a limited amount of funding for the work it is important to use it in a way which will bring the most benefit to our tenants.

We have appointed Henry Boot Construction and Keepmoat to carry out the upgrades, along with our own in-house teams. These companies were chosen partly because they will employ people from the Doncaster area, create new apprenticeships, and work with our local schools to show young people what they need to do to get a job in the construction industry.
