More than 80 adults will fall on the stairs each day

Keep stairs and landings clear at all times so there is nothing to fall over

Stair carpets which are worn or loose can be dangerous

Painting outside steps can make them very slippery and should be avoided

Stairs, hand-rails and banisters should not be altered or removed
