Rural Focus Group
St. Leger Homes of Doncaster set up a Rural
Communities Focus Group in March 2007, which meets on a regular
basis, with around 10 Tenants at each session. The meetings
always take place at The Boughen Centre, off St James Street
between 2 - 4pm.

Agenda items have included a presentation on
the Rural Survey Questionnaire and representation from various
departments such as repairs, anti-social behaviour, decency
etc.
Meetings over summer (2007) have focused
purely on tenant consultation with regards to the Decent Homes
Standard and Choice Based Lettings. However, attendees of the
meetings generally specify agenda items that are of particular
interest to them.
“It’s given me a platform to discuss
issues that have long been overlooked regarding living in rural
areas. I’ve enjoyed taking part and being able to request a
representative from St. Leger Homes of Doncaster to answer my
questions on such issues as decency standards, anti-social
behaviour and grass cutting.”
Lesley Gilfedder (St. Leger Homes of
Doncaster Tenant & member of Rural Communities Focus
Group)
Tenants are welcome to attend the group if
they live in one of the outer-lying areas of Doncaster and are
interested in helping to develop and improve our present
services.

Future Meeting Dates to be set for 2009
