Whitby Away Day

Whitby Wanderers...

Following a successful funding bid to the TARA Capacity Building Fund, the Black Minority Ethnic (BME) TARA was awarded £498.  The group applied for money to fund an ‘Away Day’ to improve group relations and strengthen teamwork.
The BME TARA committee worked together with St Leger Homes’ Diversity Team members Vivien Binks, Heather Saunders and Michaela Heaps to create a programme for the day.  It was decided that the group would travel to Whitby where they would participate in a team building exercise.
During the day the TARA members split into smaller groups and two activities were undertaken.  The first of these was a fun treasure trail where groups could work together and develop skills such as a better knowledge of English, self-esteem and confidence.  The second part of the challenge was a photo competition where members had to take photographs of various things around Whitby.  As you can see from the photos there were some excellent results!
