BME Doncaster Settlers TARA

St. Leger Homes is striving to ensure that all our tenants take an active part in Tenants and Residents Associations (TARAs)

Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) tenants are currently seriously under-represented within TARAs. As a result the BME Tenants Focus Group was established to try to redress the balance. This has now been renamed the BME Doncaster Settlers TARA.

Making the Connections, Meeting the Challenges

We provide all the necessary facilities for allowing BME tenants to fully participate in the meetings.

If we are informed in advance of the meeting we will:

Provide Translation and Interpretation for requested language
Pay travel allowance upto a maximum of £5

We do provide the following at all the meetings:

Halal and Vegetarian food
Obtain permission for photographs
Ensure disabled facilities are available
Infra Red Hearing Loop Facility for Hard of Hearing
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere for everyone to chat and mingle with staff and other attendees
Allowing the time for tenants to raise individual concerns and for staff to address them
Tenants can bring a support person with them
