Reference:SL312 Home Exchange Officer

Grade/Salary : Scale 5 ( £19,621 - £21,519) pro rata

Hours/Type: 37pw Part Time Temporary for 12 Months

Location : Ten Pound Court

Closing Date:  06 February 2012

Description :Doncaster Council has been successful in obtaining a grant of £80,000 from the Department of Communities and Local Government to enable tenants to move home more easily through Mutual Exchange.

Doncaster Council is one of 12 councils across the country to take a share of £1 million made available to make it easier for tenants in social housing to move home, which is a key priority for the Government.

The Mutual Exchange Register is how council and some housing association tenants can swap properties, as long as they have their landlord's permission.

With less than 5% of our current tenants registered on the mutual exchange list, this opportunity will make moving home for these tenants easier, for example to move to a different area in the borough, to downsize or move to a bigger home if one is needed.

Instead of a paper register, the homes will be available to view on line, locally and nationally. We require two officers, 1 full time and 1 part time to support tenants who need to move house.

We are looking for two experienced officers who will develop and promote a proactive estate agent approach to Mutual Exchange, increasing its uptake in order to free up family housing enabling best use of stock.
