There are many ways you can become involved and you can give as
much or as little time as you like.
Below is a time guide to help you choose how to become involved
in a way that suits you.

Give your opinion through an email survey
From time to time we may send you an email survey asking
for your opinion on a particular subject. A ll you will
have to do is complete it and return via email.

Occasionally we will send you a questionnaire to ask you what
you think about a service or new idea. You will need to
complete the questionnaire and return it in the freepost envelope
we provide you with.

thoughts on a certain area of our service, there are no right or

can chat about issues that affect your community. We will ask
your opinion on possible changes to our services and use your

Take part in a discussion group.
A discussion group is when a selection of tenants and
leaseholders meet together to discuss changes or
improvements to services or policies.The meetings usually last
no more than 2 hours. Please note you do not need any prior
training or to have worked as part of a discussion group before to
help us in this way.

Special Interest Groups (Young/ Rural/
Disability).
At St Leger Homes we have a number of Special Interest
Groups. These groups unite people with a common interest from
across the borough. We currently have a Young Persons Focus
Group, a Rural Tenants Focus Group and a Disability Focus
Group.
Meetings are informal and offer you the opportunity to come
along and be involved in shaping our services. To help
you we offer a travel allowance of 50p per mile.

Join an Estate Walk
We carry out estate walks on all the estates we manage
every three months. The walks help to highlight any issues on the
borough’s council estates.

Become a Mystery Shopper.
As a mystery shopper you will be given the opportunity to test
our services to the limit. Mystery Shopping can involve
making an anonymous phone call, e-mailing us or visiting one of our
offices.

Join a Tenants' and Residents' Association.
A tenants and residents association is a group of people
who live in the same area. They meet together to talk about
issues that affect their homes and local area.

The Scrutiny Panel
Look at the performance of all areas of the business and
scrutinise it by carrying out investigations to see how it can be
improved. The Panel is tenant driven and tenant lead.

Standing Joint Committee Member
To become an SJC member you need to be recommended by the TARA
you attend. The SJC represents tenants, residents,
leasholders and private landlord tenants at a borough level.

Become a Board Member.
Board Members meet on a 2 monthly basis to consider the
company's vision and values and to provide the strategic and
policies decisions. The Board Members are also required to serve on
Committees which meet monthly. Members have to prepare for
the meetings by reading the reports before attendance. Training and
support are provided for Board Members to enable them to fulfil
their functions efficiently. PLEASE NOTE: THESE
POSITIONS REQUIRE A HIGH LEVEL OF COMMITMENT.
