Join your estate walk
Council tenants in Doncaster are being urged
to get active and join in their local estate walks in 2012.
St Leger Homes of Doncaster – the organisation
that manages around 21,000 homes for Doncaster Council – has just
launched the 2012 list of walks.
Information about the walks can be
found by
clicking here or by tenants calling
into their local area office.
St Leger Homes carries out regular walks on
all of the estates it manages and teams up with Doncaster
Council, South Yorkshire Police and local councillors to look for
any problems that may need rectifying – such as litter or
graffiti.
The estate walks also identify untidy
gardens, unauthorised parking, and check the condition of
trees, garage sites, communal areas, paths and play
areas. After the walks any improvements or work required is
carried out.
Dave Abbott, head of service for tenancy and
estate management at St Leger Homes of Doncaster, said: “The estate
walks are a great way of picking up any concerns tenants have. It
means we actively find out what needs doing and then plan for any
work that needs to take place.”
