The Board of St Leger Homes of Doncaster is made
up of 11 members. Board members are paid and receive
expenses.

Board Members

Alan Tolhurst OBE
Chair
Alan first became connected with Doncaster in 1983, when he
commanded RAF Finningley. Amongst his other senior RAF
appointments, he was the Air Adviser to the British High
Commissioner to Canada and Personal Staff Officer to a NATO
Commander. On leaving the RAF he became General Manager of
Universiade GB Ltd, the company which organised the XVI Universiade
(World Student Games) in Sheffield. In 1991, he started his own
Management Consultancy and was appointed as Chairman North
Nottinghamshire Health Authority; he has chaired NHS organisations
ever since. He holds a varierty of charitable appointments as well
as being, since 2005, Chairman of Doncaster/Sheffield Airport
Consultative Committee. In 1992, he was appointed a Deputy
Lieutenant for South Yorkshire and was made an OBE in 2008.

Rodger Haldenby
Tenant Member
Rodger is a tenant and lives in Intake. After securing his City
& Guilds in Painting and Decoration at 20, he served nine years
in the Royal Air Force Provost Branch. Managerial positions
followed with Shell UK Oil, Cleveland Coin International and Retail
Outlets in the USA. He is currently with the Northeast Doncaster
Citizens Advice Bureau in Thorne as a volunteer adviser and
supervisor. He is secretary to the Intake High-Rise TARA and has
had affiliations with Intake Community Enterprise (ICE) and Intake
Action Group.

Michelle Greenwood
Tenant Member
Michelle is a tenant in Scawsby and is involved in many
activities throughout Doncaster. She is a member of the
Community First Panel (Great North Road Area) as well as the
Chairperson of the Latin Gardens/Emley Drive Area TARA, Scawsby and
the West Area Forum. She has been a Magistrate for 6 years,
is a Governor at Rosedale Primary School and is also a Community
Crimefighter for Doncaster West. Michelle qualified as a
Counsellor last year and practices weekly on a voluntary basis.
Maureen Tennison
Tenant Member
Maureen is a tenant and lives in Warmsworth
and is involved in many activities across the borough. Maureen is
the Treasurer of the Edlington Royal TARA and also the Treasurer of
Friends of Martinwells Lake. She has been a Magistrate for nine
years and is a newly appointed member of the Police and Crime Panel
and also a Community Crime Fighter for the West area. As well as
being involved in various St Leger Homes focus groups, Maureen is
also a Tenant Panel Member of Efficiency North.

Jayne Brown OBE
Independent Member
Jayne is a resident of Doncaster and was educated at the then
Thorne Grammar School. She is presently Chief Executive of
NHS North Yorkshire and York and was previously Chief Executive of
NHS Doncaster. Jayne joined the NHS in 1990 and has held
numerous senior management posts in both trusts and health
authorities. Prior to joining the NHS she worked in local
government and in the private sector specialising in human resource
management and organisational development. She was awarded
the OBE in 2004 for services to the NHS.

Linda Christon
Independent Member
Linda has worked in the public sector for over 23 years.
She has extensive experience in housing and social care services,
and was formerly the Regional Director for the Commission for
Social Inspection (now the Care Quality Commission). She has
also worked as a management and organisational development
consultant. She has a law degree and post graduate
qualification in housing administration and property management and
a Masters degree in business administration. Linda lives in
Barnsley and has spent most of her working life in the Yorkshire
and Humber regions. She is currently a non executive director
of Barnsley Hospital Foundation Trust.

Suki Jandu
Independent Member
Suki has lived and worked in Yorkshire for the last 20 years in
a range of roles within social housing, regeneration and
regulation. Commencing in a front line housing service role
working with homeless households, Suki has led the successful
development of housing services and new homes, developed projects
improving the quality of life for local people, and currently works
as an independent consultant supporting services managers and
organisational leaders to develop and deliver their strategic
aims.

Doreen Woodhouse
Councillor
Doreen has been a Conservative Councillor in Doncaster since
2002 and serves the Sprotborough Ward. She is a member of the
Schools, Children's and Young People's Overview and Scrutiny Panel,
is Vice Chair of the Adults and Communities Overview and Scrutiny
Panel, serves on the DMBC Member Development Working Group and is a
Board Member of the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Doreen is also a member of the
Advisory Board of Sprotborough Children's Centre and is Chair of
Sprotborough Parish Council.

Chris Mills
Councillor
Chris has been a Councillor for the Conisbrough and Denaby Ward
since 1999. Chris chairs the Healthier Communities and
Vulnerable People Overview and Scrutiny Panel and sits on the
Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee. Other roles
include Chair of Governors at Rowena Nursery and Infant School,
Vice-Chair of De Warenne Academy and a member of the Governing Body
of Dearne Valley College. Chris has a great interest in
housing matters and has held a variety of responsibilities
connected to housing during her period of office on the
Council.

Paul Wray
Councillor
Paul was elected as a councillor for the Town
Moor Ward in 2012. He has a lot of experience in housing having
worked for the housing departments of two local authorities
including DMBC. Paul sits on the Regeneration & Environment O S
Committee, Planning Committee, and the Employers Relations (Dispute
Resolution) Sub-Committee.

Susan Jordan
Chief Executive
Susan Jordan joined St. Leger Homes in May
2009 from Six Town Housing in Bury, Greater Manchester.
She has over 30 years experience in Housing,
and has experience in steering organisations through changes,
growth and audit commission inspections.
Susan is still very passionate about making a
real difference and doing things right, and has strongly held
values centred on putting the customer first and delivering
excellence.
